Giving Tuesday 2024

Building Hope, Healing Lives Together.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you to everyone who generously donated, shared our posts and helped us to raise an amazing total of $25,492,38 yesterday! With your support, we not only exceeded the $15,000 fundraising goal we had set for ourselves, but we have achieved the most successful Giving Tuesday in the 30-year history of the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS)! Your immense support has given our team a significant boost at the beginning of this giving season. We are so very grateful to you for this.

For 30 years, IRSSS has been a lifeline of healing and hope. Today, the need for support has never been greater. Requests for help continue to rise significantly year over year. Despite funding cuts, our dedicated Resolution Health Support and Indian Residential Claims Support teams have doubled their reach since 2022, now supporting an astounding 109,956 clients and facilitating 12,604 interactions annually.

But we know that numbers don't work for everyone. This month we will be writing to you to share stories from our team about the incredible work they are doing with your generous support. Each week of December, you will hear from one of our colleagues who will be letting you know how your support allows them to continue their incredible work. Stay tuned for more information each week.

If you've been thinking about contributing a donation to IRSSS, now is the perfect time. Unrestricted donations are the backbone of our work. They allow us to respond quickly to urgent needs, sustain vital programs, and expand services where the demand is greatest. Your generosity directly fuels healing workshops, crisis lines, cultural support, and so much more—providing critical care to those who need it most.

Sincerely,
